1966 Morris Mini Cooper 'S' Mk.I **SOLD**

Registered 18th March 1966 and received by its first owner in Bristol in June of the same year, our home-market and very original Morris Cooper ‘S’ wears Tweed Grey paintwork with Old English White roof now as it did then, and retains its original matching-numbers engine, body number and registration number.  A very genuine and honest example.  Not perfect, but not easily repeated either.

Purchased by the most recent owner in April 2008, he acquired the car from his Father who in turn had owned this Mini since 1983.  There were only three additional keepers prior to this time.  Upon acquiring the car in ’83, the father and son duo set about a light restoration, concentrating on the floors, sills, inner wings, electricals and mechanicals, but leaving the interior and major areas of the body relatively untouched.  The result is a very authentic Mini, which combined with only nominal road use in the subsequent 30 years has helped it to remain solid and outwardly original.

Huge care has been taken to retain the authenticity and originality of this car.  Despite the carpets having been replaced, the originals were retained and accompany it.  Despite the driver’s seat cover having to be replaced, the originals were retained and could be refitted.  The Morris steering wheel accompanies the car, as does the factory-fitment air box, etc…

The summer of 2020 saw our car receive a light recommission.  This attended to oil and fuel filters, fuel lines, fuel pump, clutch master and slave cylinders, hydrolastic fluid, water pump, gaskets, brake master cylinder and calipers, plus performance radiator and MOT.

Our Morris Mini is further offered with the original buff logbook, BMIHT Heritage Certificate, some old MOTs and invoices for parts and engine work which wasn’t completed by the father and son duo.
