What a great fast road car!…  Not only is this a UK supplied and therefore original righthand drive 1959 BN4, but it’s in the very best Healey colours, it’s been tuned and developed to offer the most spirited driving experience, and its rather inexpensive for what you’re getting….

So…. What are you getting?  Well, firstly you’re getting a 2.6litre straight-six original matching numbers engine, but now overhauled and breathed-on with +.60” cylinders, bigger valves, roller rockers, a ground and balanced crankshaft, aluminium head, fast-flow inlet and exhaust manifolds, lightened flywheel and Ignitor ignition kit with competition HT leads.  The result would be impressive enough even if this wasn’t all done to power a car which weighs very little in the first place.  The gearbox has been refurbished in the last handful of years and has overdrive on 3^rd and 4^th gears.  Further still, the steering box has been replaced, and the car runs on quality Vredestein sprint classic tyres shod to what could pass for new wire wheels….

The interior of the car and the leather seats tell a consistent story commensurate with age, but they’re not torn or unflattering.  Our car is accompanied with all its wet-weather gear including side screens, hood and a full tonneau cover.  Not only this, but it also comes with a Pete Farmer Performance Racing hardtop with air vent, as photographed, and in itself a £2,000 item.

The majority of the aforementioned works were undertaken by its latest skilled privateer owner over a period of twelve years of his ownership, culminating in 2018 with the major engine developments.  He acquired the car from Bill Rawles Classic Cars in 2009, and they in turn acquired the car from an Insurance Co. following some light damage sustained to the front of the car which the insurance company elected not to repair.  A Denis Welch front end with the inimitable fast-road styling was fitted to this car, and this marker against it is the only reason it’s not a £40,000+ car today….  We can assure any potential suitor that the damage sustained has been expertly repaired by Rawles, and we have full ramp facilities at our showroom to inspect the same.
