The MGC is an instantly recognisable British sportscar, and one which is bound to put a smile on any motoring enthusiasts face.
Dating from June 1968 where it wore Snowberry White paintwork, older extensive and documented restoration works (c1997) led to a colour change, amongst much more besides.
Now presented in Tartan Red, with excellent condition MGOC executive black leather seats and black mohair roof, our MGC has clearly been well loved by its six former owners. The contents of the generous history file evidence the considerable care that has been devoted to this car.
In recent years it has largely been looked after by MG specialists such as Fisher Services of Kent and SE London, and previously by MG Motorsports. In the hands of MG Motorsport, it benefitted from an engine out rebuild to a fast road specification in 2008. The engine was re-bored, gas-flowed and fitted with new valves and guides, pistons, rings, main bearings and big end bearings, plus re-profiled Kent Cams. With the engine in top order, an overdrive gearbox was also installed, followed by front suspension rebuild with a new steering rack and polybushes, and rear suspension replaced. Lastly, a Downton twin exhaust provides the evocative soundtrack.
The result is a really great little MGC on Minilite alloy wheels which is ready to be faced with the very best of our British B-roads. Recently MOT’d and available immediately from our showroom here near York.
