Construction of this Pilgrim-built AC Cobra was completed and registered June 2001. It is presented in arguably the best colour combination with twin stripes running the full length of the car and has travelled only 5,000 miles since its build!
Having immediately fallen for this car and bought it off a retail stand at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2016, the most recent owner awarded this AC a cherished life in dry storage, with occasional use on high days and holidays. The time has now come for someone else to enjoy this pleasure.
Built upon a galvanised chassis utilising Sierra components and paired to a more-than-capable Chevrolet 350ci engine of 5.7 litres, mated to a 5-speed Tremec gearbox makes spinning the wheels in third easily achievable to excite your inner hooligan…
As you’d imagine, the soundtrack is exhilarating, the performance is enormous and to its immense credit the comfort and finish in the cabin with bucket seats that hug you, five-point harnesses, correct size and feel steering wheel and (anorak points here!) a gearstick which exits the tunnel in the correct place all combines to make the driving experience very pleasant indeed…. Just be mindful to step well clear of the stainless side pipes as you exit the car!
The Halibrand replica wheels are in excellent condition and have just been shod with brand-new Cooper Cobra Tyres completing the American muscle look.
Loud, lairy and lots of fun!
