1971 Datsun 240Z **SOLD**

The Datsun 240Z has a rich history of competition success, with many specialists and rally-car preparers proud to associate themselves to these proficient rally entrants.

Built to current competition guise by ‘Z’ Specialist, DJR Racing and completed in 2012, our car was formerly a California resident until import to the UK in the early 1990’s by Spike Anderson of Samuri fame.

Being an incredibly sound shell, it was the perfect candidate for what came next, which was (externally and internally at least); a full bare-metal repaint, conversion to righthand drive, the fitment of a Safety Devices rear roll cage & Recaro seats with 4-point harnesses, Anthracite 15’’ Minilite wheels shod with Dunlop Formula-R tyres, and more recently, the addition of the front mounted spotlights.

Mechanically, this car runs to 2.8 litres with a modified 10.5 to 1 cylinder head, stainless chrome stem race-spec valves, competition valve springs, bronze guides and new seats.  It has the DJR billet-spec cam, vernier cam sprocket, bronze oil pump drive gear, ARP main bearing bolt kit, Visco crank damper, new forged crank and pistons.

Our 240Z further boasts the more durable Nissan 200-SX 5-speed gearbox with a R200 Diff fitted with Quaife ATB LSD into an R200 3.9 heavy-duty prop shaft and 280ZX rear drive shafts and hubs.  Suspension is courtesy of adjustable Bilstein coilovers whilst the brakes have been converted to FIA spec with rear discs.  A 10mm aluminium sump guard, stainless-steel exhaust system, on-board RaliTripp computer and no doubt countless more subtle modifications complete this potent motorsport package!

This truly is a rally-winning contender in the right hands and accordingly, your early interest is welcomed….
