As Land Rover’s go, we’re not completely biased by claiming that this is a bloomin’ good one. It’s no secret that many have been put to heavy commercial use, which is perfectly fine, but takes its toll. Ours has evaded that kind of duty. Instead, it has clearly been well looked after by its four owners, the most recent for eight years, and covering just shy of 10,000 miles in his care.
Useful upgrades and enhancements have been made such as the LED lighting, plus a replacement interior in 2014 with Defender X Tech XS black heated seats, and the XS central cubby box, stitched grey. The cost of this was close to £1,000. Further, our car boasts rear window security grilles and has front lamp guards fitted.
Other features include a simple-to-operate Laserline car alarm system, and it did at one time have an upgraded stereo unit with Bluetooth, but its already out of date, and not ideal really. We’d recommend a simple tape deck!
In 2012, at 49,677 miles, the ABS valve was replaced, presumably having failed, but the invoice doesn’t make this clear. What is clear is the cost, at more than £3,000!
The much-admired and respected TD5 engine is a real treat, the gearbox light and easy to operate, and this car isn’t hiding any gremlins with a long MOT granted. Available now, and can be delivered to you after its service if you wish….
