Original righthand drive home market MG TF. It still wears its original colours of red bodywork with contrasting biscuit colour trim and a black fabric roof. The same registration number its worn from new, ‘KMO 65’, was issued in Berkshire in December of 1954.
Our MG TF was the subject of considerable restoration works in 2018, early in the ownership of its most recent keeper, himself, an enthusiast of collector cars. The extent of this body restoration has been documented quite thoroughly with photographs.
Mechanically, the car fires to life readily, and idles steadily within moments. The carburettors were rebuilt in 2018, and by our reckoning the car has travelled fewer than 250 miles since this time. It will be subjected to a modest oil and filter service for the new owner, as required.
These most recent works weren’t the first time this car has received restorative attention in its life. The generous history file demonstrates all manner of maintenance in its time, from Ridge Brothers of Liverpool, Archway Engineering of Manchester, plus lots and lots from Naylor Brothers of Shipley, not least a full engine rebuild and further upgrades in 2002 for a Leeds-based owner.
Today, this MG TF presents very well indeed, in a condition one would be very proud to own. As photographed, you’ll see its accompanied by full wet-weather gear, and the substantial history file as described.
