We’ve long admired the Porsche 968.  To us, it’s a wholly underrated Porsche which has aged gracefully.  We think the Cabriolet version in particular is a sincerely good-looking car, even by today’s standards and competition.

We’re especially pleased to offer this car for sale.  Purchased by its latest owner in 2016 at 95,700 miles, £2,500 was almost immediately invested with Francis Tuthill Limited to attend to several precautionary issues resulting from three years of very modest mileage.  These issues mostly related to a light oil leak from the sender unit, a power-steering fluid leak which is absolutely resolved, freeing-off calipers, fitting new brake discs and pads, and other worthy but sundry items.  Invoice included.

A very quick tot-up through the service book shows no less than sixteen service stamps, at least four cambelt changes and at least four spark plug changes, the most recent only a week ago, and that’s all calculated without thumbing each line of each receipt, so potentially more besides.  Many invoices and all MOT’s to warrant mileage are present in the substantial history file.

Upon acquiring this car, which has still now only covered close to 96,500 miles, Manor Classic Cars Ltd have submitted it to Malton-based Porsche Specialist, Sam Lander Engineering, for an inspection, health-check, full service including air filter and spark plugs therefore giving our car a clean bill of health for immediate use by a new custodian.

Road-manners are impeccable with a car like this.  The power is sufficient, with the acceleration and build-up of speed through the Tiptronic gearbox being more than adequate, whilst not license-threatening.  Having driven perhaps only 30 miles we already “get it” as to why these cars are considered capable open-top sports cars without breaking the bank.  In red, with black leather interior, unmarked switchgear, and a convertible roof in a condition which absolutely belies the mileage, a car like this for the post-lockdown motoring season certainly makes a lot of sense!
